Our headquarters in Peaks Mill, Kentucky, is the starting point for all of our Elkhorn Creek trips. After signing up for the trip of your choice, you'll park a few hundred feet down the road in one of our monitored parking areas. You will then walk back to the shop where we present everyone a 10-minute safety video and talk. This is the time to ask any questions you have concerning water conditions, procedures for your specific trip, the weather forecast, the fishing report, or about what we do here at Canoe Kentucky. Then, after fitting everyone with a lifejacket, we shuttle you to the put-in for your trip and get you on the water.

All shuttles leave on the hour so please arrive at Canoe Kentucky 30 minutes or more before the trip you plan to take. The 6-mile "Fun Float" and the 13-mile "Best of Both" end at Canoe Kentucky. Paddlers doing the 12-mile "All Day Adventure" and 19-mile "Wear It Out" must stop in at Canoe Kentucky to set up a pick up time for our shuttle to meet you at the take-out. When your trip is over please be sure to check-in at the desk, as it is very important for us to know that you are safely off the water. Then, after a great day on the creek, feel free to tell us about your trip, shop in our store, or relax and have a snack on our deck overlooking Elkhorn Creek.

Alcohol Policy

Alcohol and river activities ...canoeing, kayaking, rafting, fishing... DO NOT MIX! Your judgment and abilities can be diminished by alcohol along with your ability to withstand cold. Exposure to the hot summer sun intensifies the effects of alcohol and the two can be a dangerous combination. Be responsible and smart. Make the drive home safe and sober. Kentucky is taking a strong stand against drinking in public and while on the water. It is illegal to drink while on public waterways and the Elkhorn is patroled by KDFWR officers on a regular basis. Therefore, we do not allow the consumption of alcohol on any of our trips or on any Canoe Kentucky property.

Pets

We strongly urge you to please leave your pets at home. If you do choose to bring them an additional charge of $10 per pet will apply. Due to possible transportation issues, we can not guarantee your put in time if you bring your pets.
